Judson Kimmel
Patient Advocate Man Up To Cancer
Jud Kimmel was diagnosed with metastatic, high grade, small bowel NET in September 2022 and received Lu-177 DOTATATE as first-line treatment via the landmark NETTER-2 clinical trial. Early radioligand therapy changed the course of Jud’s Stage IV cancer, opening the door to his relatively good health today vs. his uncertain status at diagnosis. More recently, Jud has worked to build understanding between radiopharmaceutical professionals and the prospective / actual RPT recipients they aim to serve. Jud sees a wide gap existing between theranostics “patient access” and “patient confidence” and he calls all stakeholders to partner and innovate to narrow this divide.
Seminars
- Showcasing a patient journey in which RLT was the first and only cancer treatment to highlight real world impact on life beyond disease
- Exploring how receiving RLTs without prior therapies shaped long term quality of life, independence, and the ability to return to meaningful personal and professional activities.
- Bringing the patient voice into the scientific discussion by reflecting on what outcomes mattered most beyond clinical response, treatment burden, and survival statistics.
